[Sci-Fi] Asoriya - The Colony (OOC, interest check)

The year is 3074 and technology has evolved substantially. Earth is a very prosperous place. Poverty has been nearly abolished along with hunger and most fatal disease. With the many technological advances came Asoriya, a very large colony set up in space. Asoriya is depicted to the average earth dweller as being a wonderful paradise, but in reality it is something very different. The inhabitants of Asoriya are treated like prisoners and are forced to work for inadequate wages to provide goods for earth. The government is totalitarian, the police system is corrupt, and the citizens live in a state of persecution and privation. In recent years, though, something has changed. An underground resistance has sprung up. Their objective: To show earth the true conditions of Asoriya and get help for it’s people.

All citizens are forced to carry with them an ID card, which can be ran through a computer and give all known information about the person. Random inspections are known to occur on the streets as well as in homes. Many officers will threaten punishment in order to obtain bribes. Citizens are paid with credits, paper money similar to the dollar.

The colony is made up of hundreds of cities. These cities would contain apartment buildings(there are no houses for citizens, only practically identical tenements), government offices, police stations, factories, and government buildings where citizens would go to get necessities(food, clothing, etc). There would also be bars, clubs, etc, but officers would have full reign in most of them(the ones that weren't underground that is, but underground establishments would be raided often).

While this is futuristic sci-fi, and obviously there has to be some pretty advanced technology to sustain an entire civilization in space, don't go crazy with it, keep things like weaponry and such plausible.

You can be a citizen, a resistance member, a police officer.

Biography: She was born on Asoryia, both her parents were from earth. She grew up hearing stories of the wonderful things there, but that's all they are to her. Stories. Dreams to comfort her when things get to hard. She has never dared to let herself hope that she could actually break free from the brutality of Asoriya. Soon that may change.

Her parents died 5 years ago, she was an only child and has no other family, and now lives alone in her apartment. Most of her time is spent either at work or at home. The rest is to be revealed through the roleplay.
